To provide its own Hyper-Converged solution, VMware has introduced vSAN capability, which is a software-define storage. With this feature, we can use all the internal disks of the servers, which are called DAS in the terminology, as SAN storage. As a result, there is no need to buy separate storage for storage, and the organization’s costs are greatly reduced. Creating Shared Storage for Virtual Machines is the result of a VMware Virtual SAN software-based approach. Using this approach, the local physical storage resources related to ESXi Hosts are virtualized and converted into storage pools that can be split and allocated to virtual machines and applications based on QoS requirements. It should be noted that vSAN can be implemented directly in ESXi.
